Vladimir Golubnychy is a track and field athlete, two-time Olympic champion, Master of Sports of the USSR, Honored Worker of Physical Culture of the USSR, Honored Coach of the USSR. Born June 2, 1936 in Sumy. He graduated from Sumy High School # 18, in 1955 - specialized department of the School of Trainers at the Kiev Institute of Physical Education. In 1953 he won the USSR Youth Championship at a distance of 5 km, set a national record for young men in walking for 3 km. He advocated for the voluntary sports associations Burevisnik (Kyiv, 1953–1956) and Spartak (Sumy, 1957–1980). USSR Adult Champion 10 km away. He has set several Ukrainian records at different distances.

Володимир Голубничий – легкоатлет, дворазовий олімпійський чемпіон, майстер спорту СРСР, заслужений працівник фізичної культури УРСР, заслужений тренер УРСР.

Народився 2 червня 1936 року в м. Суми. Закінчив сумську середню школу № 18, у 1955 р. – спеціалізоване відділення Школи тренерів при Київському інституті фізичної культури. У 1953 р. переміг на юнацькій першості УРСР на дистанції 5 км, встановив республіканський рекорд для юнаків у ходьбі на 3 км. Виступав за добровільні спортивні товариства «Буревісник» (Київ, 1953–1956 рр.) і «Спартак» (Суми, 1957–1980 рр.). Чемпіон УРСР серед дорослих на дистанції 10 км. Встановив декілька рекордів України на різних дистанціях.
