1.the olympic games is a major international event featuring summer and winter sports, in which thousands of athletes participate in a variety of competitions. 2. the ancient olympic games were held in olympia in greece, that's why they is called olympic games.

3.  the olympic flag consists of   five intertwined rings which represent the unity of the five inhabited continents (america, africa, asia, australasia, europe). the colours of the rings—blue, yellow, black, green, and red—over a white field forms were chosen because every nation had at least one of them on its national flag.

4.  months before each game, the olympic flame is lit in olympia on a special ceremony. the flame has been an olympic symbol since 1928.
