Lesie: Sure, I'll tell you about my hobbies.

Simon: OK. What are they?

Lesie: My first hobby is going to the gym. I go to the gym three times a week. I do floor exercises, aerobics classes, swimming and I do weight training.

Simon: Of all those things, what are your favorites? What's your favorite? What's your favorite thing to do?

Lesie: My favorite thing to do is either swimming or what they call aqua-aerobics.

Simon: Aqua-aerobics? What's that?

Lesie: Well, actually, there are different kinds of aqua-aerobics. It's just like an aerobics class but it's in a swimming pool, so there's, so you're not putting pressure on your joints when you're jumping up and down.

Simon: Ah, cool! Any other hobbies?

Lesie: Yeah, um, because it's going to be Christmas soon, I'll be able to enjoy my hobby of baking.

Simon: So what kind of things do you bake?

Lesie: Oh, well, sometimes I bake pies, like pumpkin pies or pecan pies. Pecan pies are very famous where I come from in Florida because we have pecan trees and then sometimes I do cakes, like really rich cakes like red velvet cakes, or carrot cakes, but this year I'm going to be baking cookies.

Simon: Cookies! What kind of cookies, Leslie?

Lesie: Ah, let's see this year's cookies are going to be the traditional Christmas sugar cookie, which is a big cookie in a kind of a Christmas shape, like a Christmas tree or Santa Claus with icing or some colored sugar, very yummy, and some M&M cookies with red and green M&M's.

Simon: Oh, wow! Sounds interesting! OK. I've got a question, or I've got something to ask you.

there are so many kinds of sport: football, basketball, and hockey for active team players; ice–skating, running or track and fields for hard–working individuals and even chess and other intellectual kinds of sport. so you only need to find yours.

personally, i think that sport is as important to me as education. i’m convinced that the sound mind is in a sound body. therefore, i’m trying to keep fit by different means. i like different active team games in summer. i can play beach volleyball or tennis with mmy friends. in winter i prefer going to the gym or some kinds of winter sports as ice–skating or snowboarding. this is great fun. in spring and autumn when the weather is good i love jogging in the park enjoying the nature around. however, there is one sport that brings me the most of the pleasure. it’s horse–riding. i have been doing this kind of sport for only 2 years, but i’m already quite good at it. there is a small school of horse–riding not far away from the town where i live. there are not many horses, but i need only one. its nickname is lucky and i have been riding it since early beginning of my training. i like the coach too. she teaches me to take care of horses and to communicate with them.

unfortunately, this kind of sport is expensive and i don’t have an opportunity to do it on a regular basis. nevertheless, when i’m riding i feel a great influence of this animal. it’s not just a kind of sport but a kind of psychotherapy that gives you spiritual balance.

лично я считаю, что спорт также важен для меня, как и образование. я убеждена, что здоровый дух — в здоровом теле. поэтому я стараюсь поддерживать себя в форме разными способами. мне нравятся различные активные командные игры летом. я могу поиграть в пляжный волейбол или теннис с моими друзьями. зимой я предпочитаю ходить в спортзал или некоторые зимние виды спорта, такие как фигурное катание и сноубординг. заниматься ими весело. весной и осенью, когда погода хорошая, мне нравится ходить на пробежку в парк, наслаждаясь природой вокруг.

тем не менее, есть один вид спорта, который приносит мне наибольшее наслаждение. это верховая езда. я занимаюсь этим видом спорта только 2 года, но уже достаточно хороша в нем.

недалеко от города, в котором я живу, есть небольшая школа верховой езды. в ней не много лошадей, но мне нужна только одна. ее кличка — лаки, и я езжу на ней с самого начала моих тренировок. мне также нравится и тренер. она учит меня ухаживать за лошадями и общаться с ними. к сожалению, это дорогой вид спорта, и у меня нет возможности заниматься им регулярно. тем не менее, когда я езжу верхом, я чувствую огромное влияние этого животного. это не просто вид спорта, а вид психотерапии, который приносит душевное равновесие.
