School vandalized
Over the weekend, vandals broke into Rivermead School. The police arrived promptly, as did the fire brigade, although they 1 have come as there was no fire! At a press conference, the police were critical of school security. They said that since there was no sign of any break-in, they were certain that somebody at the school 2 have left a door or window open. ‘The security guard 3 have checked everything was locked before going home,’ said a police officer. ‘It was a poor decision to leave the school without proper security.’ When asked, the police officer said he didn’t know who had carried out the break-in. ‘It 4 have been students, or ex-students, or just local people who knew the school well,’ said the officer. ‘I don’t know for sure.
