I took son Peter after work yesterday to a shop in Arbat Street to get a new coat. We were shown a lot of coats at the shop. We liked two of them, but one was too small for the son, so we took the other one. It was a nice brown coat for a boy of fifteen. Then we went to another shop and got a toy for the second son, and a picture book for a little daughter. I also got some nice things for the wife. It took us an hour and a half to do all our shopping and we got home at a quarter past eight. As soon as we came home the children took boxes from us and opened them. They liked the toy and the book very much. The daughter, who likes shopping, said that they would go shopping with Mother some day, too. "We're going to get a new hat for Father and a new shirt for Peter"​
