Komsomolsk – on – Amur
Our town is one of the largest industrial centers in the Far East. Here there are aircraft industry, shipbuilding, the manufacture of the foundry equipment, iron industry, oil refining industry, electro and thermal engineering. Therefore we have many factories and plants such as “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft”, “KNAAPO”, “Rosneft” and others. They develop the economy of our town.
As for culture there are many interesting places for entertainment in Komsomolsk. We have cinemas, theatre, gallery and museums. Though our town is not old it is included in the list of historic places. And all history is in its architecture. Komsomolsk is rich in monuments in honor of the famous people, memorials and squares.
The education is well – developed too. There are two higher educational establishments - the Pedagogical University and the Technical University and ten specialized secondary educational establishments. Our Industrial Technical School is among them. It’s very prestigious to study here, because it is one of the best educational establishments. Besides that, there are about sixty schools in our town.
Komsomolsk is proud of its sporting achievements. Our famous sportsmen are Julia Chepalova, Yuri Berezhko, Ivan Shtyl and others. In our town there is well – known professional football club “Smena”. Our school of boxing “ The Ring – 85” is famous worldwide. Komsomolsk – on – Amur is very young, but promising town. We like it and it’s the great honor to be its citizens.
