Not many people can say they’ve visited a singing hill. Kanat has done that! “The singing dune is a really unique place,”he explains. “You drive along a track,and among several trees,you can see eagles,lizards and wild donkeys.Then, you see three tall stones.A legend says that Shyngys Khan put them there,800 years ago. When you arrived at the tall dune, you walk to the top and as you slide down,it starts to make a loud and beautiful ‘singing’sound!In the past, the area was covered in apple forests.It’s my new favourite place!”

Lake Balkhash is the largest lake in Kazakhstan,and one of the largest lakes in Asia. It is located in the southeast of Kazakhstan.Seven rivers flow into the lake. Half of the lake is freshwater,and the other half is salty. The lake has 43 islands and is 600 kilometres long.A lot of animals and plants live by the lake.
