Iv. combine the sentences using past simple and past perf. example: i finished my report. i called my boss. after i had finished my report i called my boss. we packed our things. we went to the airport. eva came to the party. everybody left the house before it. ted worked as a driver for 5 years. ted found a good office job after that. the director arrived. the secretary sent a fax and prepared a cup of coffee for him before that. the secretary went out to have lunch. she e-mailed the clients the hotel room was small, stuffy and uncomfortable. i expected a bigger and more comfortable room. our chairman retired in 2005. 1 joined the company in 2008.

We had packed our things before we went to the airport everybody had left the house before eva came to the party tom had worked as a driver for 5 years after that ted found a good office job the secretary had sent a fax and prepared a cup of coffee for director before he arrived the secretory had e-mailed the clients by the time she went out to have lunch the hotel room was small stuffy and uncomfortable i had expected a bigger and more comfortable room our chairman had retired before i joined the compony in 2008
