The rich musical art of Azerbaijan has a centuries-old history of development. The first information about this music was obtained from a number of historical monuments discovered during archaeological excavations, rock carvings of Gobustan (XVIII-III millennium BC) and Gemi-Gaya (III - I millennium BC). The epic "Kitabi Dede Gorgud" (VII century), in the works of Nizami and Fizuli contains rich information about the musical life of the Middle Ages, musical genres and instruments.
