chooses the right one. So says CHIC SIMPLE, a new pocket book, which is set to

become the businessman’s guide for choosing and wearing shirts, ties and tie-pins.

Written by a team of top US fashion writers, the book’s message is that man

should stop accumulating clothes, and simplify his life by sticking to a few things

which are absolutely right.

The secret in taking one tie lies in choosing a tie with several subtle colours in its

background. Choose your shirts to pick out different shades from that tie and it

looks new each time.

The second rule for travelling light is to make sure your shirts fit the occasion.

Blue stripe is traditionally a city classic, meaning that the wearer has conservative

values. But thin, close stripes look formal and businesslike; wide stripes more
