2. I originally STUDIED chemistry at university. I GRADUATED with a first-class degree. (Past Simple).

3. I now COMPLETED a postgraduate degree in administration. (Past Simple)

4. I HAVE BEEN TRYING to find a permanent job for a considerable time. (Present Perfect Continuous)

5. Indeed, I HAVE already WORKED for several companies on a temporary basis. (Present Perfect)

6. In my first job, I WAS responsible for marketing. (Past Simple)

1) serena and blair read the letters that they got from the different universities.  2) the girls were excited while they were reading the letters. 3)  serena looked at blair because/when she understood that the news were not very good. 4) blair got a place only in georgetown, although/however she did her best at school. 5) at that moment blair hated serena, because she thought, that she was cleverer that serena was. 6) serena was not going to yale to study,    however/although she got a positive answer from yale. 7) blair had a small chance to get into yale, because she was put on the waiting list. 8) serena tried to calm down her friend,  because she understood, it would be very difficult.
