1)The Beatles, the famous band from Liverpool, got to the peak of its popularity in the 1960s. But its story began earlier in 1957 when Paul McCartney met John Lennon. They were both teenagers. Paul could play the guitar really well and his talent impressed John. So he was invited to join Lennon's band.

2)During its history, the band had several names, including The Quarrymen, Johnny & the Moon Dogs, and The Silver Beetles. The group's final name, the Beatles, is a mix of two words: beat (musical rhythm) and beetle (an insect).

3)At the beginning the Beatles played popular songs from the 1950s. They performed folk, rock-n-roll and pop songs while developing the style of their own. The Beatles experimented with the genres a lot and even invented several new ones.

4)Brian Epstein became the manager of The Beatles in 1961. He worked hard on the band's reputation. The musicians' style changed a lot. Brian made them wear suits and classic shoes and have newer haircuts. Thanks to his influence, even conservative media accepted the band.

5)1963 is the start of the glorious history of the band. That year The Beatles recorded the album "Please, Please me" in one day. The song from this album was number one on every UK chart for a long time. The October 1963 concert at the London Palladium made the band famous around the country and started the "Beatlemania" period in Great Britain.
