The United States of America is one of the greatest countries in the world.

It is situated on the North American continent and is washed by three oceans: the Pacific, the Atlantic and the Arctic.

The USA  borders only on two countries — Canada and Mexico.

This great country has a lot of mountains, rivers, lakes. The main mountains are the Appalachians and the Cordilleras. The longest rivers are the Mississippi and the Missouri.

The climate of the country is varied. In the southern part it is subtropical while the northern part has very cold weather in winter.

The USA is one of the largest industrial countries in the world. It is located in North America. It consists of 50 states. The largest state is Alyaska and the smallest one is Rhode Island state. The largest river is the Mississippi.The  USA is a young country.  In fact, not so long ago people called the USA the "New World". The capital of the United States is Washington D.C.(since 1800) The former name of the city was New Amsterdam. The first president of the country was George Washington. Today the president is Donald J. Trump. He's the 45th president of this country. The largest city in the country is New York City. It was the capital of the USA, but only for one year .There are many pop-stars from Hollywood, state California .Only in the USA people celebrate Thanksgiving and Memorial Days.  The population of the country is about 325 mln. people.
