"Girl with a pearl earring "is one of the most famous paintings. Created at the end of 1665 by the Dutch artist Jan Vermeer. It is often called the Dutch Mona Lisa. Very little is known about this picture. According to one version, the artist portrayed her own daughter Maria. The artist tried to capture the moment when the girl turns her head towards the viewer to someone she has just noticed. According to the title, the viewer's attention is focused on the pearl earring in the girl's ear. The picture is attributed to the Dutch genre "tronic", which was denoted by the image of a person's head, rather than full portraits. To create this work of art the artist used oil paints and canvas. In my opinion, this picture is striking with its brightness and excitement. It is immediately apparent that Jan Vermeer has invested not only a great deal of strength into this masterpiece, but also his soul.​
