I would like to tell you about celebrating some unusual holidays in Russia. Well, Its not a secret that there are some variety of holidays that dont really celebrated in Russia, or even not celebrated at all.

The first one is Valentine's day. Somebody think that this holiday is not needed and people should show their love without any special days and somebody have the opposite opinions, they say that its a good way for couples to ask out on a date, or to present something to the person you love. My opinion is closer to those who likes this holiday, by the way there often much yummy chocolate on sale that day.

There are also such holidays that are celebrated by nobody, Halloween and Catholic Christmas. I belive that the reason is that Orthodox Christians dominate in Russia and this holidays may contradict to their belief.

You could hear that some say its not right to celebrate foreign holidays and it is not patriotic. I will say that we all have different preferences and if you are really patriotic there is nothing bad if you like Halloween or other original holidays. Moreover holidays not only for fun, they can also broaden your mind and give you much positive emotions.

So , to conclude I would like to say that our country is multinational and a big amount of holidays only makes our life easier, it is important not what you are celebrating, but how you are celebrating it.
