Написать 2 общих и 4 специальных вопроса к любым предложениям текста california lifestyles why do so many new ideas come from california? it must be something in the air. new lifestyles, new kinds of medicine, new religions, new house styles — so many new things come from california. let's talk about bungalows, for example. a bungalow is a simple house of one storey with a yard around it. bungalows first became popular in southern california around 1900. thousands of them were built very quickly. the style traveled all over the u. s., and for a long time all bungalows were called "california bungalows". and now about the spanish style of house. it's popular in many places now. but it started in california. the old californian "spanish mission" houses have thick adobe walls and round roof tiles. they are cool and comfortable. inside, there are tiles on the floor, and heavy wooden doors. santa barbara, a favourite californian vacation town, is famous for its spanish architecture. the story began in 1925. a big earthquake destroyed many of the buildings. after this disaster, a woman called pearl chase worked hard to bring in new laws. all the buildings in santa barbara, she said, must be in the spanish style, with white walls and red roofs. people agreed with her, and santa barbara today is one of the prettiest towns in the united states. californians love the sun, and their houses show it. the old ranch houses of california copied the mission style. in the centre of the house was an open place, or "patio", with buildings on two or three sides. californians liked the patio. they liked to live half inside and half outside. new houses today often have patios. people work, cook, sunbathe and talk to their friends on the patio. new modern houses all over the united states have copied the idea of the californian patio. some californian ideas are not so easy to copy. go up in an airplane, and look down at los angeles or san diego. what are all those blue things next to the houses? that's right. they're swimming pools. not many people outside california can pay for their own swimming pool in their own backyard.

Мы должны заботиться о нашей окружающей среде until recently the planet was a large world in which human activities and the nature were in balance. the people lived in harmony with nature and didn`t pollute it. but nowadays, environmental problems are the most burning for the modern society. the air we breath, the water we drink, the ground where we grow our food, and even the increasing noise we hear every day, that`s all contribute to health problems and a lower quality of life. people cut down trees, destroy the habitats of thousands of animals and contaminate water in rivers and seas. the increasing numberof cars in towns and cities has led to the growth of the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. also, you know, that many rare animals and plants are disappearing, so i think it`s our duty to care and save animals. the problems are so serious nowadays, that they should be solved without delay. i guess, i`m a big fan of nature and the great outdoors lover. so i`ve entered to our city environmental group, which helps to be our city more cleaner and beautiful. we must care, where we live, because we can change the world and we can make it better! if the earth is green, it`s a healthy planet, and i want to make it green. as for me a green earth means that water, air and soil are clean. people breath fresh air and i hope our future generations will do it too. so,let`s leave in peace with our environment! перевод: только недавно планета была большим миром, в котором человеческая деятельность и природное состояние были в . люди жили в гармонии с природой и не загрязняли ее. но в наше время, экологические проблемы стали наиболее острыми для современного общества. воздух, которым мы дышим, воду, которую мы пьем, земля, где мы выращиваем нашу пищу, и даже возрастающий шум, который мы слышем каждый день, все это способствует проблемам со здоровьем и снижению качества жизни. люди вырубают деревья, разрушают места обитания тысяч животных и загрязняют воду в реках и морях. возрастающее количество автомобилей в городах способствует увеличения уровня углекислого газа в атмосфере. также, вы знаете, что много редких животных и растений исчезло, поэтому я думаю, что это наша обязанность заботиться и беречь животных. проблемы так серьезны в наши дни, что они должны быть решены безотлагательно. я думаю, что я большой фанат природы и большой любитель быть на открытом воздухе. и я вступила в нашу городскую группу окружающей среды, которая быть нашему городу больше чище и красивее. мы должны заботиться о месте, где мы живем, потому что мы можем изменить мир и сделать его лучше! если земля-зеленая, то это - здоровая планета, и я хочу сделать ее зеленой. что касается меня, зеленая земля означает, что вода, воздух и земля - чистые. люди дышат свежим воздухом, и я надеюсь наши будущее поколения будут делать это тоже. итак, давайте жить в мире с нашей окружающей средой!
