  sumatran rhinocerose an ancient species among the now existing rhinoceroses, close to tertiary fossil species of rhinos.sumatran rhinoceros is 2.5-2.8 m long, the shoulder height is 1.1-1.5 m, weighing up to 800 kg. has two horns, the front of them up to 25 cm in length, and the rear horn only in the form of stupid elevation. this kind of rhino has cutters (unlike the others), its body is covered with non-greasy hair, brushes of hair developed in the ears.  the sumatran rhinoceros lives mostly in tropical forests. it feeds on vegetable food and fruit. he eats up to 50 kg per day.the most active this kind of rhinoceros in the morning and at night. he is very fond of taking baths of swarms, which can hold up to 5-7 hours. here he helps to get rid of mites of buffalo birds and marsh turtles.male sumatran rhinoceros becomes mature at the age of 10 years, female - 6-7 years. pregnancy in the rhinoceros lasts 15-16 months. born rhinoceros weigh up to 60 kg. he feeds on his mother's milk for up to 15 months, and keeps her with her for 3 years.  it was previously widely distributed in bangladesh, eastern india, myanmar, thailand, cambodia, laos, malay peninsula, indonesia, in particular in the islands of kalimantan and sumatra. it was at this last that he was first seen by a european in 1793. this is the name given to the entire species of these rhinos. the sumatran rhino has three subspecies: the northern sumatran rhino, the eastern submarine rhino, and the western submarine rhino.now he is on the verge of survival. according to various information of these rhinos left in the wild from 150 to 275 animals. mostly they live on the islands of sumatra, kalimantan, java, some on the malay peninsula, small groups in thailand, cambodia, myanmar. although there is very little data on the number of sumatran rhinoceros.the main reason for the disappearance of the sumatran rhinoceros is human activity - cutting down of tropical forests, poaching.
