The three wishes. this story happened long, long ago. there lived a poor man and his wife in ireland. once on a cold winter evening the husband asked his wife:   - what would you ask a fairy for if she came here? -there are no fairies in the world. what is the use of talking?     - his wife answered. hardly had she said these words when a beautiful woman appeared and said that she was a fairy and she added that she would grant three wishes for them. then the fairy disappeared.   the wife and the husband decided to think their wishes over and in the morning to tell them. but in some time the wife felt hungry and said: - "if only we had a good sausage for lunch." a big sausage appeared on their table. "you, stupid woman! why? i wouldn't regret if this sausage stuck to your nose! " the husband said. the sausage stuck to a poor woman's nose. "why! " - she cried. "we could have 2 wishes left! "   they quarrelled for a long time and finally decided to have the sausage fall on the table. then they ate it with good appetite.
