When we want to buy something, we go to a shop. there are many kinds of shops in every town or city, but most of them have a food supermarket, a department store, men's and women's clothing stores, grocery, a bakery and a butchery.  i like to do my shopping at big department stores and supermarkets. they sell various goods under one roof and this is very convenient. a department store, for example, true to its name, is composed of many departments: readymade clothes, fabrics, shoes, sports goods, toys, china and glass, electric appliances, cosmetics, linen, curtains, cameras, records, etc. you can buy everything you like there.  there are also escalators in big stores which take customers to different floors. the things for sale are on the counters so that they can be easily seen. in the women's clothing department you can find dresses, costumes, blouses, skirts, coats, beautiful underwear and many other things. in the men's clothing department you can choose suits, trousers, overcoats, ties, etc.  in the knitwear department one can buy sweaters, cardigans, short-sleeved and long-sleeved pullovers, woollen jackets. in the perfumery they sell face cream and powder, lipstick, lotions and shampoos.  in a food supermarket we can also buy many different things at once: sausages, fish, sugar, macaroni, flour, cereals, tea. at the butcher's there is a wide choice of meat and poultry. at the bakery you buy brown and white bread, rolls, biscuits.  another shop we frequently go to is the greengrocery which is stocked by cabbage, potatoes, onions, cucumbers, carrots, beetroots, green peas and what not. everything is sold here ready-weighed and packed. if you call round at a dairy you can buy milk, cream, cheese, butter and many other products.  the methods of shopping may vary. it may be a selfservice shop where the customer goes from counter to counter selecting and putting into a basket what he wishes to buy. then he takes the basket to the check-out counter, where the prices of the purchases are added up. if it is not a self-service shop, and most small shops are not, the shop-assistant helps the customer in finding what he wants. you pay money to the cashier and he gives you back the change. 

Ihave a lot of friends. most of them are classmates. my best friend called alex. he is fourteen. he lives with his parents not far from the school. alex has a lot of hobbies: he likes to play the computer, to read detective stories, to collect butterflies. he likes animals, espesially cats. he has got a cat lastik at home. alex has short, light hair and grey eyes. he is quite short and rather thin. he always manages to be cheerful, energetic, full of life and energy. he is helpful and honest. alex is very popular. hе is a helpful person and every time he tries to do her best to help somebody when he has problems. alex is very attentive to his parents. of course, he has some drawbacks — sometimes she is a hurly-burly boy, a bit stubborn. but still like him as she has a good sense of humour and pleasant to deal with. we spend much time together — watch video or listen to the music, walk or go to the cafe discussing all sorts of things. our friendship helps me feel strong and sure of myself. we are friends for a long time. we trust each other. we have some personal secrets. i can tell him about my troubles and he always helps me, if he can. i cannot imagine my life without alex. i appreciate our friendship and the fact that we are trying to help each other, and that we can talk about everything. our friendship makes me happy. i’m happy to have such a good friend as alex. перевод у меня есть много друзей. большинство из них мои одноклассники. мой лучший друг по имени алекс. ему четырнадцать. он живет с родителями недалеко от школы. алекс имеет много увлечений: он любит играть на компьютере, читать детективы, собирать бабочек. он любит животных, особенно кошек. у него дома есть кот ластик. алекс имеет короткие светлые волосы и серые глаза. он довольно низкий и довольно худой. ему всегда удается быть веселым, энергичным, полным жизни и энергии. он готов и честный. алекс популярен. он отзывчивый человек и каждый раз пытается сделать все возможное, чтобы кому-то, когда у кого-то есть проблемы. алекс внимателен к своим родителям. конечно, у него есть некоторые недостатки — иногда он сомнительный мальчик, немного . но все равно мне нравится его хорошее чувство юмора и с ним приятно иметь дело. мы проводим много времени вместе — смотрим видео или слушаем музыку, гуляем или ходим в кафе, обсуждаем все что угодно. наша дружба мне чувствовать себя сильным и уверенным в себе. мы дружим уже давно. мы доверяем друг другу. у нас есть несколько личных тайн. я могу рассказать ему о моих неприятностях, и он всегда мне, если может. я не могу представить свою жизнь без алкса. я ценю нашу дружбу и то, что мы стараемся друг другу, можем говорить обо всем на свете. наша дружба делает меня счастливым. я счастлив, что у меня такой хороший друг как алекс. и подставь имядруга
