Ятак понимаю, что нужно поставить глагол в правильной форме? учитывая, что действие произошло до того, как началось "соревнование на прошлой неделе", то по правилам грамматики языка глагол ставится в так называемом предшествующем и если речь идет о медалях, то это не madals, а medals ( before last wekk's competition, he had had the three madals.
